Comments Explained

We like conversation. Our journey with Jesus and relationship with God was never meant to be an individual or isolated thing. We all work out what we believe and how to follow God in relationship and community with others. And so with the Bible in a Year we’re actively encouraging discussion and conversation on the Bible and how we understand and live out its message today.
That means that the Soul Survivor Bible in One Year website is a bit of a forum for discussion. Some of us at Soul Survivor keep an eye on it, but we don’t explicitly moderate the comments that are posted up. That means we don’t always endorse all the comments that are written and they don’t necessarily represent the values and theology of Soul Survivor. So far, tens of thousands of comments have been left and we simply don’t have the time to moderate each and every comment, and even if we did, the time it took to moderate them would stifle discussion and online conversation.
The point of the site is that we’re hoping to generate discussion to help you further your walk with Jesus. It’s a place you can come and ask questions, share your reflections and encourage others. It’s supposed to be fun and a reflection of where you’re all at, so we hope you like it.
There are some things that will automatically mean that your comment doesn’t appear. If that happens to you it will be for one of the following reasons:
1.You’ve put a web link in your comment. We don’t allow this because web links on comment boards are often a sign of spam and external sites can contain malicious content/software
2. You’ve put your email address. This isn’t very sensible. Don’t share your email address or any other personal details on open forums.
3. You wrote some rude words. Swearing and being offensive isn’t very nice, so we’d rather people using the site didn’t do it.
That’s pretty much it.
We want the forums to be safe, encouraging, theologically accurate and places where you feel you can ask questions or add comments no matter how silly you think they are!
So, if you see comments that you find offensive, rude or not in keeping with the above – please let us know as soon as possible.
