Staying Safe Online

We recognize that the Bible In One Year web site is an open forum and you’re probably ‘meeting’ and chatting with people who you’ve never met – which is great! But please be careful and be wary of overly friendly strangers.

Whilst the majority of people online and using the Bible in One Year have all the best intentions, Soul Survivor does not run checks on each individual that uses the site – we don’t know everyone who posts comments, nor can we vouch for them! That doesn’t mean people aren’t nice, but just please be careful and sensible when using any online forum!

If you feel like a visitor to the Soul Survivor ‘Bible in One Year’ (or someone on the Soul Survivor Facebook page) is behaving inappropriately or aggressively then please let us know immediately.

If you ever get involved in a conversation online (whether in a forum/chat room/ Facebook/MSN etc) that makes you feel in danger for any reason, or you have strong concerns about the person or conversation, exit the site, log off and report it (see details below) or tell a parent or other adult right away so they can report it.

If you think you should report someone for the way they are behaving online then head to this website (or show it to a parent/youth leader):

Top tips for staying safe:

1. Don’t give out personal details (email address, phone number, facebook profile info etc)

2. Don’t believe everything and everyone that you see and ‘meet’

3. Be especially wary of people you don’t know, no matter how friendly they seem

4. Don’t ever agree to meet up with someone you don’t know on your own. If someone asks you to do this then tell a parent, youth leader or another trusted adult/friend.
